Step 2 - Surface Preparation
Don't overlook the importance of surface repairs. Notice any cracks, scratches, chips or excessive peeling on your vehicle? Make sure you repair these issues as soon as possible to give your vehicle a paint job with the smoothest and glossiest finish possible.
The trusted estimators at Maaco Hatboro, will examine your vehicle and recommend condition repairs. Our surface prep options are affordable and will ensure your MAACOVER looks amazing. Repairing any surface issues before painting will allow the paint job to maintain a shiny finish for a long time.
Step 3 - Surface Sealer
You may have noticed that some paint jobs just can't seem to hold their shine. This may be from the uneven color and gloss that sometimes comes from mixing old and new paint. Sealer performs the important task of providing a barrier between old and new paint.This allows for even color application and more gloss throughout the paint job.
Maaco of Hatboro offers three different grades of sealer. The choice of which grade of sealer to use depends on desired durability and the amount of prep work your vehicle needs. Sealer will help your vehicle keep a shiny finish long after the paint job is done.
Step 4 - Paint Services
At Maaco of Hatboro, we offer three paint packages tailored to your specific needs and budget concerns: Basic, Preferred and Premium. What makes each of the three services unique all comes down to two factors: Longevity of the paint, which includes warranty/durability, and the appearance of the paint, which includes gloss, color match, and metallic appearance.
We apply a single-stage enamel paint to refresh your vehicle's appearance. Our Basic service offers a one-year warranty, and gives your car an attractive gloss and accurate color match.
Need to keep your paint job at a reasonable price but want better durability?
The Preferred package is for you! It even comes with a three-year warranty. It consists of a single-stage paint application that utilizes urethane. This ingredient resists chipping and is more resilient than enamel finishes.
If you're looking for the best appearance and durability, look no further than our two-stage Premium service.
This package includes a five-year warranty and provides the highest level of endurance, glossiest finish and best color match. You'll want to show off this paint job for years!
Our Platinum #MAACOVER is a package that bundles several of our incredible services that will undoubtedly provide a superb paint job. The service begins with light chip and scratch repair, followed by an initial prep service with priming and block sanding, followed by painting with a urethane sealer. Step 5 - Protection & Finish
A new paint job warrants proper protection. At Maaco, clear coats are often applied after painting to protect the paint. This final step also ensures an accurate gloss match and provides a seamless repair.
Step 6 - Proper Car Care
Proper car care can have a major impact on the durability and appearance of your new paint. The right maintenance can help your car hold its color and shine, as well as provide protection from the elements.
When possible, try to:
- Park in the shade, but avoid trees;
- Avoid driving on sand, salt or loose gravel;
- Wash your car regularly.
Washing your car is a great way to remove unwanted contaminants that may be damaging your finish such as tree sap, bird droppings or bugs. It's recommended that you hand wash your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Be sure to use this as an opportunity to rinse the undercarriage of your car to remove dirt, salt or other chemicals that promote rust.
Four to six weeks following your paint job, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax, like Mothers, that does not contain abrasive cleaning agents, such as silicone.
Apply a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions apply it to the entire car. Allow the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using the same short, circular motion.
