Auto Painting in Hempstead, NY
Step 1 - Body Repair
Worried about those small dents and unsightly scratches ruining your paint job?
No need to worry. As part of your vehicle's MAACOVER, our body repair technicians have mastered the method of eliminating those blemishes down to a Five-Step Process to ensure that your finish is free from those small dents and unsightly scratches.
Step 2 - Surface Preparation
What's the importance of surface repair? You know those chips, scratches, cracks and excessive peeling on your vehicle? If left untreated and exposed to the elements over time, these conditions could ultimately ruin your paint job. Repairing such issues will help your vehicle receive the smoothest finish and highest possible gloss.
At Maaco of Hempstead, our estimators examine your vehicle and suggest condition repairs. We offer affordable surface prep options that ensure your MAACOVER looks great. A little surface repair before the paint goes on can ensure it holds that gloss and shine for years to come.
Step 3 - Surface Sealer
Some paint jobs fail to hold their shine, even if it hasn't been that long since they were completed. This may be because of the reaction between old and new paint mixing, which can result in uneven color and gloss. To establish a barrier between the old and new paint, Maaco painters will apply sealer.
We offer three grades of sealer at Maaco of Hempstead. The correct choice factors in durability and the amount of prep work needed for your individual vehicle. Sealers helps keep consistent shine long after the job is complete.
Step 4 - Paint Services
Maaco offers three paint packages that are designed to your specific needs and budget concerns.
These packages are our Basic, Preferred and Premium paint jobs. Each of these services take two factors into consideration: Longevity of the paint, including warranty and durability, and the appearance of the paint, including gloss and color match.
We apply a single-stage enamel paint to refresh your vehicle's appearance. Our Basic service offers a one-year warranty, and gives your car an attractive gloss and accurate color match.
Want greater durability and a reasonable price?
Maaco's Preferred service will accomplish both and comes with a three-year warranty. The package entails a single-stage paint application that uses urethane, which helps prevent chipping and provides more resiliency than enamel paint.
When it comes to the best look and performance, there is no topping our two-stage Premium service. Complete with a five-year warranty, this service offers the highest level of durability, best possible glossy finish and superb color match that you will want to show off for years.
Our Platinum #MAACOVER is a package that bundles several of our incredible services that will undoubtedly provide a superb paint job. The service begins with light chip and scratch repair, followed by an initial prep service with priming and block sanding, followed by painting with a urethane sealer. The package also includes a five-year warranty that protects against fade of gloss and peeling.Watch our video

Step 5 - Protection & Finish
After investing in a quality paint job, make sure to take the steps to protect it. AT Maaco, we often apply clear coats after painting to not only protect the fresh paint job, but to also ensure gloss match and an overall seamless repair.
Step 6 - Proper Car Care
Taking the proper car care steps can have a major impact on the durability and appearance a new paint job. Proper maintenance will help your car maintain its color and shine and provide protection from the elements.
Use these tips to protect your new paint job:
- Wash your car regularly;
- Park in the shade, but avoid trees;
- Avoid driving on sand, salt or loose gravel.
Make sure to wash your car regularly to remove unwanted contaminants that can damage your finish such as bird droppings, tree sap or bugs. We recommend hand washing your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Also use this as an opportunity to rinse the underside of your car to remove impurities that can lead to rusting.
After your paint job is completed, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax that does not contain abrasive cleaning ingredients like silicone. We recommend Mothers brand wax.
When applying the wax, administer a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions. Let the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using a similar short, circular motion.
