Step 2 - Surface Preparation
Don't overlook the importance of surface repairs. Notice any cracks, scratches, chips or excessive peeling on your vehicle? If you leave these imperfections exposed to the elements without treating, your paint job could seriously suffer. Make sure you repair these issues as soon as possible to give your vehicle a paint job with the smoothest and glossiest finish possible.
The trusted estimators at Maaco Pawtucket, will examine your vehicle and recommend condition repairs. Our surface prep options are affordable and will ensure your MAACOVER looks amazing. Repairing any surface issues before painting will allow the paint job to maintain a shiny finish for a long time.
Step 3 - Surface Sealer
Some paint jobs fail to hold their shine, even if it hasn't been that long since they were completed. This may be because of the reaction between old and new paint mixing, which can result in uneven color and gloss. To establish a barrier between the old and new paint, Maaco painters will apply sealer.
We offer three grades of sealer at Maaco of Pawtucket. The correct choice factors in durability and the amount of prep work needed for your individual vehicle. Sealers helps keep consistent shine long after the job is complete.
Step 4 - Paint Services
The three different paint packages that Maaco of Pawtucket offers are the Basic, Preferred and Premium packages. Each is tailored to your vehicle's specific needs and your budget. Each service is unique in their degree of longevity and appearance. Longevity of the paint includes warranty/durability and appearance includes gloss, color match and metallic appearance.
Our Basic #MAACOVER includes an application of a single-stage enamel paint to revive your vehicle's paint job. This service also includes a one-year warranty, along with a glossy finish and accurate color match.
Want greater durability and a reasonable price?
Maaco's Preferred service will accomplish both and comes with a three-year warranty. The package entails a single-stage paint application that uses urethane, which helps prevent chipping and provides more resiliency than enamel paint.
Our two-stage Premium service offers the best look and performance of our three paint packages. It includes a five-year warranty and provides the highest level of durability, superb color match and a perfect glossy finish.
Step 5 - Protection & Finish
A new paint job warrants proper protection. At Maaco, clear coats are often applied after painting to protect the paint. This final step also ensures an accurate gloss match and provides a seamless repair.
Step 6 - Proper Car Care
Proper car care can have a major impact on the durability and appearance of your new paint. The right maintenance can help your car hold its color and shine, as well as provide protection from the elements.
When possible, try to:
- Park in the shade, but avoid trees;
- Avoid driving on sand, salt or loose gravel;
- Wash your car regularly.
Washing your car is a great way to remove unwanted contaminants that may be damaging your finish such as tree sap, bird droppings or bugs. It's recommended that you hand wash your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Be sure to use this as an opportunity to rinse the undercarriage of your car to remove dirt, salt or other chemicals that promote rust.
Four to six weeks following your paint job, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax, like Mothers, that does not contain abrasive cleaning agents, such as silicone.
Apply a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions apply it to the entire car. Allow the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using the same short, circular motion.
