Step 1 - Body Repair
Don't worry about those small dents and scratches on your vehicle's paint job.
As part of our MAACOVER, our trusted body repair technicians will eliminate any dents or dings through our special Five-Step Process. We'll make sure your paint job is free of any imperfections.
Step 2 - Surface Preparation
What's the importance of surface repair? You know those chips, scratches, cracks and excessive peeling on your vehicle? If left untreated and exposed to the elements over time, these conditions could ultimately ruin your paint job. Repairing such issues will help your vehicle receive the smoothest finish and highest possible gloss.
At Maaco of Clackamas, our estimators examine your vehicle and suggest condition repairs. We offer affordable surface prep options that ensure your MAACOVER looks great. A little surface repair before the paint goes on can ensure it holds that gloss and shine for years to come.
Step 3 - Surface Sealer
You may have noticed that some paint jobs just can't seem to hold their shine. This may be from the uneven color and gloss that sometimes comes from mixing old and new paint. Sealer performs the important task of providing a barrier between old and new paint.This allows for even color application and more gloss throughout the paint job.
Maaco of Clackamas offers three different grades of sealer. The choice of which grade of sealer to use depends on desired durability and the amount of prep work your vehicle needs. Sealer will help your vehicle keep a shiny finish long after the paint job is done.
Step 4 - Paint Services
Maaco offers three paint packages that are designed to your specific needs and budget concerns.
These packages are our Basic, Preferred and Premium paint jobs. Each of these services take two factors into consideration: Longevity of the paint, including warranty and durability, and the appearance of the paint, including gloss and color match.
A single-stage enamel paint is applied to refresh the appearance of your vehicle. The basic package also includes a one-year warranty. This service will give your vehicle an attractive glossy finish and accurate color match.
Looking for greater durability, but need to stay at an affordable price?
Our Preferred service is your best bet and comes with a three-year warranty. This single-stage application uses urethane, which resists chipping and is much more resilient than enamel finishes.
If you're looking for the best appearance and durability, look no further than our two-stage Premium service.
This package includes a five-year warranty and provides the highest level of endurance, glossiest finish and best color match. You'll want to show off this paint job for years!
Step 5 - Protection & Finish
After investing in a quality paint job, make sure to take the steps to protect it. AT Maaco, we often apply clear coats after painting to not only protect the fresh paint job, but to also ensure gloss match and an overall seamless repair.
Step 6 - Proper Car Care
Taking the proper car care steps can have a major impact on the durability and appearance a new paint job. Proper maintenance will help your car maintain its color and shine and provide protection from the elements.
Use these tips to protect your new paint job:
- Wash your car regularly;
- Park in the shade, but avoid trees;
- Avoid driving on sand, salt or loose gravel.
Make sure to wash your car regularly to remove unwanted contaminants that can damage your finish such as bird droppings, tree sap or bugs. We recommend hand washing your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Also use this as an opportunity to rinse the underside of your car to remove impurities that can lead to rusting.
After your paint job is completed, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax that does not contain abrasive cleaning ingredients like silicone. We recommend Mothers brand wax.
When applying the wax, administer a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions. Let the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using a similar short, circular motion.
