Auto Painting in Upper Marlboro, MD
Step 1 - Body Repair
Don't worry about those small dents and scratches on your vehicle's paint job.
As part of our MAACOVER, our trusted body repair technicians will eliminate any dents or dings through our special Five-Step Process. We'll make sure your paint job is free of any imperfections.
Step 2 - Surface Preparation
What's the importance of surface repair? You know those chips, scratches, cracks and excessive peeling on your vehicle? If left untreated and exposed to the elements over time, these conditions could ultimately ruin your paint job. Repairing such issues will help your vehicle receive the smoothest finish and highest possible gloss.
At Maaco of Upper Marlboro, our estimators examine your vehicle and suggest condition repairs. We offer affordable surface prep options that ensure your MAACOVER looks great. A little surface repair before the paint goes on can ensure it holds that gloss and shine for years to come.
Step 3 - Surface Sealer
Have you ever noticed how some paint jobs fail to hold their shine? It could be a matter of that old paint mixing with the new, creating uneven color and gloss. Sealer plays that all-important role of establishing a barrier between the old and new paint. This ensures consistent color and a higher gloss throughout the entire painted surface.
At Maaco of Upper Marlboro, we offer three grades of sealer. The right choice is all about durability, and ultimately the amount of prep work needed for your particular vehicle. When it comes to the durability of your vehicle's paint, sealer helps keep consistent shine long after the job is done.
Step 4 - Paint Services
At Maaco of Upper Marlboro, we offer three paint packages tailored to your specific needs and budget concerns: Basic, Preferred and Premium. What makes each of the three services unique all comes down to two factors: Longevity of the paint, which includes warranty/durability, and the appearance of the paint, which includes gloss, color match, and metallic appearance.
Our Basic #MAACOVER includes an application of a single-stage enamel paint to revive your vehicle's paint job. This service also includes a one-year warranty, along with a glossy finish and accurate color match.
Want greater durability and a reasonable price?
Maaco's Preferred service will accomplish both and comes with a three-year warranty. The package entails a single-stage paint application that uses urethane, which helps prevent chipping and provides more resiliency than enamel paint.
Our two-stage Premium service offers the best look and performance of our three paint packages. It includes a five-year warranty and provides the highest level of durability, superb color match and a perfect glossy finish.
If you're in need of a variety of services, our platinum package bundles several excellent repairs that provide an excellent paint job. This package includes light chip and scratch repairs, an initial prep with priming and block sanding and a urethane sealer. It also comes with a five-year warranty that protects against gloss fading or peeling.Watch our video

Step 5 - Protection & Finish
A new paint job warrants proper protection. At Maaco, clear coats are often applied after painting to protect the paint. This final step also ensures an accurate gloss match and provides a seamless repair.
Step 6 - Proper Car Care
Taking the proper car care steps can have a major impact on the durability and appearance a new paint job. Proper maintenance will help your car maintain its color and shine and provide protection from the elements.
Use these tips to protect your new paint job:
- Wash your car regularly;
- Park in the shade, but avoid trees;
- Avoid driving on sand, salt or loose gravel.
Make sure to wash your car regularly to remove unwanted contaminants that can damage your finish such as bird droppings, tree sap or bugs. We recommend hand washing your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Also use this as an opportunity to rinse the underside of your car to remove impurities that can lead to rusting.
After your paint job is completed, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax that does not contain abrasive cleaning ingredients like silicone. We recommend Mothers brand wax.
When applying the wax, administer a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions. Let the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using a similar short, circular motion.
