Step 2 - Surface Preparation
Surface repair is a crucial step in caring for your vehicle.Chips, scratches, cracks and excessive peeling can ruin your paint job entirely if left untreated. Don't leave these imperfections exposed to the elements for long. Correcting these issues will restore your vehicle's paint job to a smooth and glossy finish.
The professional estimators at Maaco Mobile will fully inspect your vehicle and recommend any necessary repairs. Our surface prep options are cost-effective and will guarantee your MAACOVER is flawless. Performing surface repairs before the final paint job will ensure that your vehicle maintains a glossy finish for years.
Step 3 - Surface Sealer
Have you ever noticed how some paint jobs fail to hold their shine? It could be a matter of that old paint mixing with the new, creating uneven color and gloss. Sealer plays that all-important role of establishing a barrier between the old and new paint. This ensures consistent color and a higher gloss throughout the entire painted surface.
At Maaco of Mobile, we offer three grades of sealer. The right choice is all about durability, and ultimately the amount of prep work needed for your particular vehicle. When it comes to the durability of your vehicle's paint, sealer helps keep consistent shine long after the job is done.
Step 4 - Paint Services
At Maaco of Mobile, we offer three paint packages tailored to your specific needs and budget concerns: Basic, Preferred and Premium. What makes each of the three services unique all comes down to two factors: Longevity of the paint, which includes warranty/durability, and the appearance of the paint, which includes gloss, color match, and metallic appearance.
A single-stage enamel paint is applied to refresh the appearance of your vehicle. The basic package also includes a one-year warranty. This service will give your vehicle an attractive glossy finish and accurate color match.
Want greater durability and a reasonable price?
Maaco's Preferred service will accomplish both and comes with a three-year warranty. The package entails a single-stage paint application that uses urethane, which helps prevent chipping and provides more resiliency than enamel paint.
When it comes to the best look and performance, there is no topping our two-stage Premium service. Complete with a five-year warranty, this service offers the highest level of durability, best possible glossy finish and superb color match that you will want to show off for years.
If you're in need of a variety of services, our platinum package bundles several excellent repairs that provide an excellent paint job. This package includes light chip and scratch repairs, an initial prep with priming and block sanding and a urethane sealer. It also comes with a five-year warranty that protects against gloss fading or peeling.Watch our video

Step 5 - Protection & Finish
After investing in a quality paint job, make sure to take the steps to protect it. AT Maaco, we often apply clear coats after painting to not only protect the fresh paint job, but to also ensure gloss match and an overall seamless repair.
Step 6 - Proper Car Care
Proper car care can have a major impact on the durability and appearance of your new paint. The right maintenance can help your car hold its color and shine, as well as provide protection from the elements.
When possible, try to:
- Park in the shade, but avoid trees;
- Avoid driving on sand, salt or loose gravel;
- Wash your car regularly.
Washing your car is a great way to remove unwanted contaminants that may be damaging your finish such as tree sap, bird droppings or bugs. It's recommended that you hand wash your car twice a month with mild automotive detergent. Use a soft cloth or sponge to avoid scratching the surface of the paint.
Be sure to use this as an opportunity to rinse the undercarriage of your car to remove dirt, salt or other chemicals that promote rust.
Four to six weeks following your paint job, we recommend that you wax your car every 3-4 months to protect your new finish. Make sure to use an automotive wax, like Mothers, that does not contain abrasive cleaning agents, such as silicone.
Apply a thin coat of wax using the provided applicator and with short, circular motions apply it to the entire car. Allow the wax to dry completely before removing it. Using a terry cloth towel, apply firm pressure to wipe the wax off using the same short, circular motion.
